The Pulse Ox pod provides an interface to standard Nellcor type sensors. These sensors are designed for photo-optical plethysmography, and are suitable for biofeedback. Available sensors include reusable finger sensors, disposable finger sensors, reusable Y sensors, reusable ear sensors, and the reusable oxyband sensor that uses disposable finger wraps. Blood Volume Pulse (BVP) is used to train the client to observe their heartbeat. Heart Rate (HR) and Heart Rate Variability (HRV) training are generally used with breathing training to strengthen the natural sympathetic/parasympathetic cycle. StimFlash Software - Passkey Enabled
This software interfaces with the BrainMaster system and provides EEG-controlled photic stimulation when used with various photic devices. This software provides a high level of EEG-controlled light stimulation. It allows you to select the frequency of the stimulation (1 to 20 flashes per second) and to set up the EEG parameters that control the stimulation.
This opens the door to powerful non-volitional techniques that guide the brain quickly into desired states. Provides functions similar to systems costing many times more. The StimFlash software allows you to define a separate protocol for the photic stimulation that operates independently, or in coordination with the EEG training protocol that is being used. Thus, it is possible to control the stimulation based, for example, on only the theta, or the alpha, or any combination of brain-waves, regardless of the protocol being used for the visual and auditory training. The Brainmaster is a low-cost, flexible, general-purpose brainwave monitor. It connects to a PC in the same way that a modem does; but instead of communicating over the telephone network, it monitors brainwaves. MICROTESLA STIM AUDITORY/SUBTHRESHOLD - MICROSTIMULATOR PACKAGE
An extension of BrainMaster’s patented StimFlash technology, the new MicroTesla subthreshold stimulators provide a new dimension to neurofeedback. Used as an alternative to photic or auditory stimulation, MicroTesla devices provide extremely low levels of magnetic fields useful for neurofeedback and self-regulation. Stimulation can be EEG controlled using precise timing and protocols, or using simple multi-frequency stimulation. The full range of frequencies from very low (<.01 Hz) to very high (4,000 Hz) can be applied. Magnetic field strengths are very low, less than that of the Earth’s magnetic field standing on the surface. While far less than the field strengths used in clinical rTMS equipment, these can produce tiny subthreshold shifts in postsynaptic potentials, in the area beneath the stimulator. When used with precise EEG controlled protocols, information is provided that can alter brain function in subtle and useful ways. Tiny magnetic fields have the potential to affect subthreshold transmembrane potentials, producing minute but useful changes in brain activation. Undesirable frequencies can be affected by selectively stimulating using a protocol to reduce their occurrence.
The MicroTesla device will operate with the Atlantis and Discovery systems -Avatar software required. This includes the built-in immersive stimulation capability, as well as PC-controlled protocols such as peak frequency, variable frequency, and BrainMaster’s patented brainwave pattern reduction protocol (US6931275), and repetitive stimulation steady-state evoked potential method (US7269456). It can operate in a pulsed mode with a rate ranging from one pulse/minute, to 300 pulses/second. The auditory output can be modulated using a sine wave pattern, with a rate from 20 Hz to 4,000 Hz.
Because the MicroTesla is 10,000,000 times weaker than traditional rTMS devices, it does not generate action potentials. Its effects are all subthreshold, and consist of information, not direct control of neuronal activity. Because the intensity is so low, it can operate at faster frequencies, and does not generate any heat or other tissue-related changes. The magnetic field is on the same order as that from a pair of earbuds, which people wear every day. The difference with the MicroTesla is that the control and timing of the frequencies is optimized for relaxation and self-regulation training.
